ArtsCAP Strategic Plan (July 1, 2011 to June 30, 2016)

 

Goal. I. Enhance ArtsCAP’s position as a community partner, change agent, and recognized expert in the arts community.   

Objective 1. Increase the number and engagement of members/supporters by 10% each year by offering a unique and relevant menu of programs and opportunities beginning July 2011.  (Responsibility: Advocacy, Arts Enterprises and Public/Private Partnership Committees and Board)

 

Objective 2. Develop and implement an annual advocacy agenda to promote the arts and arts integration in the city beginning January 2012 (partial fiscal year) and annually thereafter.  (Responsibility: Advocacy Committee)

 

Objective 2. Serve in at least one arts related leadership position at the city level each year, beginning in 2012.  (Responsibility: Advocacy Committee) 

 

Goal II. Provide dynamic programs and services for the Asbury Park community that promote the arts as a force for positive growth.  

Objective 1. Develop and implement an annual calendar of quarterly arts  programs/projects/events with partners beginning July 1, 2011 and annually thereafter. (Responsibility: Advocacy, Arts Enterprises and Public/Private Partnership Committees and Board) 

 

Objective 2.  Increase community engagement in arts events, partnerships, volunteer opportunities, and advocacy by 10% each year, with fiscal 2011-2012 as baseline. 

(Responsibility: Advocacy, Arts Enterprises and Public/Private Partnership Committees and Board)

 

Goal III.  ArtsCAP will increase its operational effectiveness and impact on mission priorities. 

 

Objective 1.  Increase ArtsCAP capacity by managing volunteers more effectively and efficiently as growth requires, beginning July 2012.  (Responsibility: Executive Committee)   

 

Objective 2.  Increase effectiveness of website, newsletter, and social networking in supporting mission objectives and overall transparency by July 1, 2012.  

(Responsibility: Executive Committee)

 

Objective 2.  Increase capacity by securing a part time administrator by July 1, 2013.   (Responsibility: Executive Committee and Board)

 

 

Objective 4. Increase effectiveness and efficiency of meeting management, recordkeeping, and access to important documents given ‘all volunteer’ nature of ArtsCAP by July 1, 2012.  (Responsibility: Executive Committee)

 

Objective 5. Identify and participate in low cost or free technical assistance or learning opportunities at least annually, beginning July 2011.  (Responsibility: Executive Committee and Board)

 

Goal IV. Ensure an effective governance structure that meets national recommended standards and supports strategic objectives.

Objective 1. Develop and implement necessary policies and procedures to guide board behavior, commitment, and stewardship by January 1, 2012.  (Responsibility: Executive Committee and Board)

 

Objective 2. Develop board committees with relevance, strong leadership and annual work plans by December 2011.   (Responsibility: Executive Committee)

 

Objective 3. Increase Board membership to include up to fifteen members with desired skills and knowledge about their roles as stewards and ambassadors by July 1, 2012.

Objective 4. Assess Board effectiveness annually, beginning July 2012.

Goal V. Strengthen the long-term financial sustainability of ArtsCAP. 

Objective 1. Develop an annual operating budget beginning fiscal year 2011-2012 and annually thereafter.   (Responsibility: Finance Committee, Executive Committee)

 

Objective 2. Secure at least $20,000 annually in unrestricted funds by July 1, 2013 

(Responsibility: Board, Fundraising/Development Committee, Finance Committee,
