"When I was about 11 years old, we took a family trip to Washington, D.C. My Dad always preferred the scenic route as opposed the interstates, so on the drive back we stopped in Asbury Park. Asbury was a wasteland then, like the ghost towns I had read about as a kid.

In my teenage years, I would get back to Asbury by any means necessary and not much has changed. I can still remember climbing through the tortured floor boards of the Casino's upper realms to perch ourselves in the exposed north wall, the tide slipping in below and the stars above.

My photographs reflect the view of Asbury Park I grew up with - the vacant streets, the dilapidated buildings, and the beauty found buried within it's urban decay. The city has changed alot in the past few years and with any hope the hard times are over. But they still hold a special place in my heart."
